The hardware layer, on your side of the boundary

A private AI cluster is not a shopping list of GPUs. It is power, cooling, fabric, storage, scheduling and a support model that survives the first hardware failure. We design the whole stack and stay accountable for it.

For institutions that need the hardware layer under their own control, we specify, build and operate the cluster without locking you to a single server vendor.

  • Vendor-neutral specification across compute, networking and storage.
  • Design reviews that cover power, cooling, rack density and failure domains.
  • Deployment, burn-in and acceptance testing before hand-over.
  • Operate it yourself or contract Bijak Cloud for lifecycle operations.

Capabilities

What the engagement covers

From the first requirements workshop to the operating runbook your team inherits.

01

Requirements and BOM

Model size, throughput, growth and power constraints translated into a defensible bill of materials.

02

Cluster architecture

GPU topology, storage tiering, management network and tenant isolation designed as one system.

03

Facility readiness

Rack, power, cooling and cabling requirements reviewed with your facility or colocation partner.

04

Deployment and burn-in

Installation, firmware baseline, stress testing and acceptance evidence before production traffic.

05

Scheduling layer

Kubernetes or Slurm, GPU sharing policy, quotas and image governance configured to your operating model.

06

Lifecycle operations

Patching, capacity reviews, incident runbooks and hardware replacement coordination under an agreed support model.

Process

How a private cluster lands

A gated delivery path with a documented decision and acceptance gate at every stage.

  1. 01

    Assess

Workloads, data sensitivity, facility constraints and operating ownership are documented before any hardware is selected.

  2. 02

    Design

Produce the reference architecture, BOM, power and cooling plan, and a failure-domain review.

  3. 03

    Build

Procure, rack, cable, install the software baseline and run burn-in against acceptance criteria.

  4. 04

    Commission

Validate performance and isolation, transfer runbooks and train the operating team.

  5. 05

    Operate

Your team runs the cluster, or Bijak Cloud operates it under a defined support schedule.

Use cases

Where private infrastructure fits

Patterns for teams whose data, latency or facility constraints rule out a purely public deployment.

On-premises regulated AI

Keep training data and model artefacts inside an existing controlled facility.

Hybrid inference

Run sensitive inference on private GPUs and burst non-sensitive work to the sovereign cloud.

Research clusters

Shared GPU capacity for universities and research institutes with quotas and fair-share scheduling.

Edge inference

Place small GPU nodes close to the data source when round-trip latency or connectivity is the constraint.

Controls

Sovereignty controls

Controls that apply whether the cluster sits in your data centre or an in-country colocation.

Customer-held control

You retain administrative control of the cluster, encryption keys and model artefacts.

In-country by design

Deployments are designed to remain within Malaysian jurisdiction; remote support access is auditable and revocable.

PDPA 2010 alignment

Access, retention and deletion procedures are mapped to Akta 709 obligations.

Immutable audit logs

Administrative and workload events are recorded locally and can be forwarded to your SIEM.

FAQ

Questions about private infrastructure

Do you resell a specific server brand?
No. We specify against your workload and facility constraints across qualified server, networking and storage options, then document why each component was selected. You are not locked to a single vendor.
Can you work with our existing colocation provider?
Yes. We review the facility’s power, cooling, rack and network readiness with your provider and design the cluster around the constraints we find.
Who owns the hardware and the models?
Ownership is set in the contract. In a typical engagement the institution owns the hardware and all model artefacts; Bijak Cloud provides design, deployment and optional operations.
What happens when a GPU fails?
The support model defines the replacement path and escalation route. We coordinate the vendor case and, where the contract includes operations, run the incident until the node is restored.
